§ 5.01. Agricultural Uses.

  • Farm. A parcel of land, under the ownership of one individual, used for agricultural purposes, including but not limited to farms, dairy activities, pastures, agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, animal and poultry husbandry, and the related secondary uses of packing/packaging, treating or storing the produce.

    Farm support business. A commercial establishment engaged in the sale of farm support goods and/or services, such as:

    1.

    The sale of feed, grains, fertilizer, pesticides and similar farm support goods.

    2.

    The provision of warehousing and storage facilities for raw farm products.

    3.

    The provision of veterinary services to farm animals.

    Fowl. Any of the gallinaceous birds, such as chicken, turkeys, ducks, geese, quail, guineas, pheasants, grouse and the common domestic fowl. ——- Of or related to the order of Galliformes i.e. heavy-bodied largely terrestrial birds ——-

    Hobby farm. A two (2)-acre or larger tract of land used for the keeping or maintenance of farm animals, personally useful to the occupants of a dwelling on the same tract.

    Kennel. The keeping of three (3) or more dogs of the age of six [(6)] months or older for profitable purpose.

    Livestock. Farm animals, such as cows, horses, goats, sheep, swine, ponies and similar domesticated animals kept for use and profit.

    Livestock sales. The sale of animal livestock which take place within an enclosed yard or structure, such as livestock markets, horse/cattle auction houses and similar places.

    Stable, private. An accessory building in which domestic animals are sheltered and fed. Such animals are not kept for any commercial purposes, such as hire or sale.

    Stable, public. An accessory building in which domestic animals are sheltered and fed and kept for commercial uses, such as boarding, hire and sale.

    Vehicle and equipment sales, major. A place of business engaged in the sale or rental of heavy trucks (over one [(1)] ton), construction equipment, tractors, farm implements and similar equipment, and their storage, maintenance and servicing.
