§ 32-3. Promulgation of rules and regulations.

There is hereby created the office of the police chief, who shall be appointed by the city council, subject to personnel board rules. Such rules, when approved by the city council, shall be binding on such members. The rules may cover the conduct of the members, uniforms and equipment to be worn or carried, hours of service, vacations and other matters necessary or desirable for the better efficiency of the department.
